Civil Field Engineer

Job Summary
Prepare construction drawings, sketches, and inspection test plans while facilitating construction methods and procedures. Initiate requisitions for field purchases, prepare quantity takeoffs, and verify commodities on tracking systems. Ensure zero accident philosophy is implemented by craft and others, maintaining safe tool and equipment conditions. Coordinate subcontractor submittals and reviews to ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements. This role supports the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of new bucket-wheel reclaimers and associated civil infrastructure at the Karratha WA project site.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent)
- 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering
- Related construction field engineering experience (5+ years)
- Strong technical understanding and practical construction experience in civil/geotechnical engineering
- Previous experience liaising with and coordinating subcontractors on site
- Excellent problem-solving ability
- Knowledge of Australian codes and standards
- Knowledge of Bechtel organization and roles
- Familiarity with Teamwork's and 3D Model Smart Plant Review
- Ability to do field inspections
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
