Job Summary
Civil Estimator to develop complete and accurate estimates by reviewing plans and project documents, performing quantity take-offs, inputting cost data into HCSS Heavy Bid, preparing bid proposals, tracking bids, and coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers. Responsibilities include analyzing earthwork and utility quantities, production rates, and cost structures; supporting business development through networking and client follow-up; maintaining organized estimating files; and collaborating with owners, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure pricing and scope coverage. Requirements include at least 5 years of estimating earthwork/utility projects, proficiency with Bluebeam and HCSS Heavy Bid, strong civil construction knowledge, ability to interpret complex plans, and excellent communication. Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred; company offers medical/dental/vision, 401K, PTO, and a company vehicle or allowance. Location: Bothell, WA; Compensation: $135K-$185K plus bonus.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience estimating earthwork and utility projects
- Proficiency with estimating and take-off tools such as Bluebeam and HCSS Heavy Bid
- Solid understanding of civil construction methods, production rates, and cost structures
- Ability to interpret complex plans and specifications accurately
- Strong communication skills with owners, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple bids simultaneously
- Sales or business development experience a plus
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate in a close-knit environment
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
