Civil Estimator

Civil Estimator role in Warrington for a top-tier multi-discipline Civil Engineering and Building contractor. Responsibilities include providing a comprehensive estimating service for assigned projects or portfolios, identifying risks from project documents, preparing tender estimates from first principles using Conquest estimating software, performing site visits to assess site-specific complexities, and leading discussions with suppliers and subcontractors during the tender process. The role involves pre-tender discussions with senior colleagues, client-facing Pre/Post-Tender meetings, handover meetings with contract/commercial teams to ensure understanding of tender elements, and keeping up-to-date knowledge of inflation, exchange rates, and projected costs. Key skills include estimating techniques, bills of quantities, tender preparation, supplier negotiation, and familiarity with NEC/JCT/Bespoke contracts, CESMM, SMM Methods, and activity scheduling. Education aligned with HND/C Civil Engineering; minimum two years in an Estimating Department; willingness to learn and adapt; CSCS Card desirable.
