Job Summary
Experienced Civil Estimator based in Bethesda HQ, responsible for preparing time, cost, and labor estimates for Divisions 3, 5, 6, 31-33 on heavy civil/public works projects in the Mid-Atlantic with a CMAR emphasis; analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to develop complete and accurate estimates; supervise and train other estimators; solicit subcontractor and vendor quotes; lead meetings with subcontractors to develop complete scopes; perform risk and contract management on bids; assist in minority participation strategy; monitor estimate accuracy and drive continuous improvement; field-site exposure and potential transition to field assignments; requires engineering/construction management degree, knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid, and strong communication and organizational skills.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, or related degree
- 3+ years of heavy civil estimating and cost control experience (concrete and sitework estimating experience preferred)
- Estimating experience on public works projects in the Mid-Atlantic and California is desirable
- Knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask
- Willingness to work in active job-site environments and travel as needed
- Proven ability to lead or work within a team on multiple projects and pursuits
