Job Summary
Track projects out to tender and prepare detailed cost estimates by reviewing proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope and required contents. Perform quantity calculations, establish unit costs, and account for productivity factors and location impacts while maintaining working documents as backup for estimate figures. Manage the bidding process independently from start to finish, ensuring accurate delivery of project management methods. This role supports a Hamilton-based heavy civil contractor specializing in bridge rehabilitation across Ontario.
Required Qualifications
- Post - Secondary degree or diploma in construction/engineering
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in cost estimation
- Must know all parts of the bidding process
- Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings
- Proficient with estimating software
- A technical background
- Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods
- Proficient in related computer applications
