Job Summary
Senior Heavy Civil Estimator responsible for end-to-end bid lifecycle, from plan review and quantity takeoffs through bid submission and post-award coordination. This role owns estimating workflows, supports supplier/vendor pricing, and coordinates with subs and office staff to compile complete bid packages. Relevant duties include detailed quantity takeoffs using PlanSwift, reviewing specifications and permitting requirements, managing bid invitations, tracking the estimating pipeline, and coordinating with vendors and subcontractors on pricing and scope. The role also supports post-award activities such as buyouts and submittals, with an emphasis on projects in heavy civil site work, water/sewer/utility installations, and building pad development, with familiarity of Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach county timelines and local permitting."
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil work on mid-to-large-scale projects ($500K-$5M+ scope) for U.S. clients
- Proven experience building out and owning estimating processes and workflows
- Strong ability to read and interpret civil engineering and site plans with high accuracy
- End-to-end bid process experience—from takeoff and supplier pricing coordination through formal submission; familiarity with post-award workflows (buyouts, submittals, scope coordination)
- Fluent English communication (written and verbal)
- Prior experience working remotely for a U.S.-based contractor is strongly preferred
- Proficiency with PlanSwift or similar takeoff software
