Job Summary
Conduct soil mechanics testing to support the planning, design, and installation of Watershed and Farm Bill projects for NRCS State and Field Offices. Perform gradation analysis, Atterberg limits, fine specific gravity, and Standard Proctor density tests for landowners and sponsors. Analyze and review test results with staff Geotechnical Engineers for interpolation and accuracy. Provide soil mechanics testing to State NRCS employees in the laboratory. Work 100% on site at the NRCS State office in Lincoln, NE, with no travel required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 year(s) of experience OR AA Degree in Engineering or closely related
- Experience required with Windows
- Experience required with MS Word
- Experience required with MS Excel
- This position is a non-federal role funded through an existing agreement between NRCS and NEW Solutions
- The enrollee will provide direct support to farmers and landowners
- enabling the implementation of conservation practices on the ground
- This role contributes to NRCS's mission by enhancing capacity in field offices

- All safety training will be performed by NDCSMC staff after Enrollee onboards
