Job Summary
Coordinate plans and schedules for municipal roadway, highway, and drainage projects while performing design calculations and reviewing staff work. Monitor job costs and project performance, supervise project teams including designers and drafters, and prepare engineering reports and presentations for clients. Manage client interactions, participate in business development and proposal preparation, and maintain organized project documentation. Ensure quality management through implementation of quality control standards. Requires a Licensed Professional Engineer in Kansas, six years of municipal infrastructure design experience, and knowledge of federal and local regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Effective communication skills - both verbal and written
- Broad understanding of required engineering principles
- Skilled in project management, managing technical professionals, and demonstrated ability to lead and direct multiple concurrent projects
- Ensure quality management with implementation of quality control standards
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related curriculum
- Licensed Professional Engineer in Kansas or the ability to obtain within 4 months
- 6+ years' experience in the design of municipal infrastructure
- Knowledgeable of and experienced with federal, state, and local regulations that pertain to the design of street and/or highway projects
Desired Qualifications
- Specific experience with winning and executing projects for municipalities related to streets, sidewalks/trails, and/or utility improvements
