Job Summary
Perform basic calculations for hydraulic, traffic, and earthwork projects while assisting in designing water, sewer, and stormwater systems for municipal and commercial clients. Support field inspections, report writing, and permit applications by collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute transportation and public-works projects within budget. Interact with clients to gather requirements and communicate technical information, while participating in quality control processes to ensure designs meet industry standards. Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance by interpreting state and local design criteria for bridge, highway, and survey work.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
- Basic skills or knowledge with AutoCAD Civil 3D software
- Ability to complete AutoCAD training sessions as quickly as possible
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays

Desired Qualifications
- Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry
- Engineer in Training (EIT) License
