Job Summary
Civil Engineering Manager 1 leads the civil discipline on electric transmission projects in NC/SC, directing staff, planning budgets and schedules, and coordinating with project managers and other engineering leads. Responsibilities include siting, permitting, QA/QC, field site visits, preparing reports and design narratives, coordinating with clients, and ensuring safety and compliance. Requires staffing, mentoring, bid/support during construction, field condition assessments, change order documentation, and the ability to lead and train staff on field visits and data collection. Must manage multiple projects, apply current engineering principles, and communicate effectively with practice leaders, clients, and contractors. Eligibility includes a P.E. license and a B.S./M.S. in Civil Engineering with 12+ years of experience; candidate should be familiar with GIS, AutoCAD, HY-8, Pondpack, Hydraflow, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project; willing to work in a hybrid office/field environment across multiple US locations listed.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License
- 12+ years of experience in civil engineering
- Experience with NPDES permitting and construction practices
- Proficiency with GIS, AutoCAD, HY-8, Pondpack, Hydraflow, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project
