Job Summary
Under supervision, serves as a Civil Engineer Intern in the Bridge Management Section of the Bureau of Bridge Maintenance, Inspections, and Operations, assisting with the implementation and data verification of AASHTOWare Bridge Management (BrM) software to maintain accurate bridge inventories, condition tracking, and asset management documentation. Typical tasks include data entry and quality control for BrM, reviewing bridge inventory, GIS/location data, and inspection datasets, performing basic engineering analysis on WNBI/NBI ratings and deterioration trends to project rehabilitation or replacement schedules, assisting with bridge load rating inputs and capacity documentation, compiling data for project scoping and budget justifications, reviewing consultant submissions and maintenance records, and helping develop standard operating procedures for asset management. Preferred skills include an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, familiarity with structural engineering concepts, and experience with spreadsheets, databases, asset management tools, and GIS; strong written and verbal communication and collaboration across technical teams. Work Location: 55 WATER ST, MANHATTAN, NY 10041. Hours: 8:00AM - 4:00PM.
Required Qualifications
- A baccalaureate degree in civil engineering from an accredited college
