Job Summary
Perform roadway, bridge, and traffic engineering design under the direction of an experienced Project Manager. Work with the team to develop plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates. Conduct site visits and manage project documentation while assisting project engineers and managers with assignments as needed. This seasonal internship is based in Pittsburgh or Harrisburg, PA, and requires a BSCE in Civil or Structural Engineering. EIT certification or the ability to obtain one prior to graduation is expected, with CADD software experience as a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to graduate from an accredited Engineering college program with at least a BSCE in Civil/Structural Engineering
- EIT certification or the ability to obtain one prior to graduation
- Must be alert to equipment in the field
- Occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery
- Occasional need to walk on uneven ground
- Exposure to dust, gas or fumes
- Exposure to noise
- Exposure to extremes in temperature or humidity
- Potential work at heights
- Must be able to lift and/or move light equipment up to 20 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in engineering is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with CADD software is a plus
