Job Summary
Lead, mentor, and support a group of civil engineers and designers on transmission and distribution projects by providing leadership oversight, removing barriers, and promoting consistency in civil design work. Foster a positive, collaborative team environment aligned with company values while assisting with onboarding, coaching, and professional development. Partner with project managers to balance workloads and plan resources, serving as a point of escalation for technical challenges and coordination issues. Support process improvements related to design standards, workflows, and quality control. Collaborate on hiring needs, succession planning, and long-term team growth to guide the capabilities of the civil engineering group.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field
- A minimum of eight years of related experience supporting civil engineering work for transmission and/or distribution projects (e.g., grading, drainage, foundations, access roads, site development)
- Four years of experience supervising junior staff
- Solid understanding of project delivery, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and quality expectations
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with team members and project partners
