Job Summary
Co-op student in civil engineering will support both office and field activities: assisting the Estimating Team with bids and cost estimates, reviewing tender documents, performing quantity take-offs, maintaining estimate files, and assisting with project execution, reporting, procurement, and logistics. The role involves sites and office work in marine/heavy civil construction, with responsibilities across planning, design inputs, method reviews, and ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Requires hands-on collaboration, proactive problem-solving, and strong communication; proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Project, and Microsoft Office is expected. Compensation is hourly ($25–$32) for an 8–16 month term starting in 2026, with enrollment in a co-op program and return-to-study requirement.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering Co-op program (minimum completion of 2nd year)
- Must have completed a minimum of two Co-op work terms
- Genuine interest in marine and/or heavy civil construction
- Exposure to construction projects (an asset)
- Familiarity with estimating, planning, or cost control concepts
- Experience using AutoCAD, MS Project, and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
