Job Summary
Utilize technical software programs to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for clients, contributing to pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis across multiple projects. Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce client visions for the future built environment while developing familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations alongside Kimley-Horn's and client practices. This entry-level role begins in Summer 2027 at our Greenwood Village, Colorado office, requiring an ABET accredited engineering degree in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering fields. Candidates will gain proficiency in disciplines-specific software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS.
Required Qualifications
- ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) by Summer 2027
- Civil and/or Environmental Engineering major
- Mechanical, Electrical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering major
- Engineering Technology major
- Familiarity with AutoCAD
- Familiarity with Civil 3D
- Familiarity with Excel
- Familiarity with Microstation
- Familiarity with VISSIM
- Familiarity with Open Roads
- Familiarity with Synchro
- Familiarity with GIS
- Development of familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations
- Development of familiarity with Kimley-Horn's practices, procedures, and standards
- Development of familiarity with client's practices, procedures, and standards
- Ability to utilize technical software programs on a regular basis
- Ability to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables
- Ability to contribute to pre-construction civil engineering design
