Job Summary
Senior Transportation Practice Lead in North Carolina to build and grow Ayres’ NC transportation practice. Responsibilities include marketing and winning transportation projects (NCDOT, counties, municipalities, and private clients), preparing/negotiating contract documents, managing clients and projects to ensure on-time, profitable delivery, mentoring staff, and leading a high-performing team. The role involves developing an annual business plan and budget focused on growth, financial planning, and marketing, participating in professional organizations, and collaborating with offices nationwide. Autonomy to grow and lead the team is emphasized, along with travel to other company locations as needed.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
- Registered professional engineer (PE) license in North Carolina
- A minimum of 12 years of combined experience in transportation project management, business development, staff mentoring
- Willingness to travel to other company locations on occasion
- Demonstrated ability to manage transportation projects profitably
- A valid driver’s license with a good driving record
