Job Summary
Civil Engineer (Remediation) role focused on investigation and remediation of contaminated soil and/or groundwater, with hands-on field work and cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities include sampling contaminated media, preparing work and health/safety plans, assembling data from site investigations and GIS/subsurface sources, developing remedial alternatives and cost estimates, producing feasibility studies and design drawings/specifications, and overseeing construction implementation (potential for long-term field assignments). Strong emphasis on data analysis, technical reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective communication with engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- 3 to 5 years of relevant post education experience in civil engineering discipline
- Engineer in Training Certification and ability to obtain professional engineer’s license
- Moderate proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, spreadsheets, and tools
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements
- Upholding workplace safety and adherence to policies
- Knowledge of civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices
- Interpersonal and communication skills in engineering and non-engineering audiences
- Self-leadership and attention to detail in dynamic environments
- Ability to learn new techniques and manage multiple tasks
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
