Civil Engineer (Project Manager)

Job Summary

Manage and execute civil engineering design and permitting projects by developing work plans, monitoring schedules, and preparing fee proposals and budgets. Oversee technical staff while producing deliverables such as roadway plans, drainage designs, and technical reports using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Administer QA/QC, prepare permitting documentation, and coordinate construction observation with contractors. Conduct regular meetings to balance project needs with staff availability and maintain effective communications with clients and project teams. Ensure staff resources are deployed productively while participating in proposal presentations and interviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering
  • Minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in the civil or construction realm including drainage, utility, roadway / transportation design
  • Existing PE or ability to obtain PE within 6 months
  • Valid driver's license, in conjunction with successfully passing the Company's MVR
  • Existing ability or strong desire to learn client development skills
  • Ability, and willingness to travel to project sites and other facility offices
  • Must be able to work effectively as a project manager in a group environment and maintain positive relationships with team members and clients
  • Organized and detail oriented with excellent interpersonal skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous work direct for municipalities (water, sewer, storm, roads, etc.)
  • Previous federal work / work for the US Military
  • Technical expert with outstanding team building, writing, proposal development, cost estimating, and program execution skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and hydraulic/hydrology software
  • Experience with traffic, drainage and utility reports
  • Experience working with both private and municipal clients
  • Industry relationships and an understanding of municipal, state and federal criteria
  • Experience and understanding of local, regional, state and federal policies, programs and procedures
