Job Summary
As a Civil Engineer, you will develop civil designs for non-infrastructure water assets, focusing on concrete structures, steelwork, and masonry. Responsibilities include applying British Standards and Eurocodes to design pipes and structures, producing design sketches for integration into 3D models, and participating in all design stages from feasibility to detailed designs. You will prepare Design Risk Assessments, ensuring health and safety compliance, support project management with Engineering Project Plans, and engage in multidisciplinary collaboration. The role requires strong technical skills in structural calculations, reinforced concrete design, and knowledge of water systems, alongside a passion for sustainability and innovation.
Required Qualifications
- A BEng or MEng/MSc degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Working towards Chartered Engineer status (MICE or MIStructE)
- Strong experience in structural calculations for water industry assets
- Familiarity with design software (TEDDS, Staad Pro, Autodesk Robot)
- Competence in reinforced concrete design, steelwork specification, and understanding of masonry design
- Experience in civil engineering design for water systems
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interest in learning, innovation, and continuous development
- A solid understanding of health, safety, and welfare requirements in design
