Job Summary
Support OFAM's director of Technical Services as a technical advisor and subject matter expert for civil engineering matters. Review engineering designs, proposed installations, and in-place systems to provide recommendations. Assist with planning, design review, and construction oversight for both large capital projects and smaller maintenance and repair initiatives. Support the development of statements of work and cost estimates while collaborating with stakeholders, including GSA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Serve as a program expert and spokesperson to present, explain, and defend technical issues to higher-level officials in CBP, DHS, and other government agencies. Maintain an ongoing book of work and prepare reports, briefings, and communication materials to share outcomes. Available for approximately 20% travel.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to effectively solve problems
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Available for approximately 20% travel
- Ability to pass a government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance use, and employment
- Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for a U.S. Government security clearance
- Only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- For this position, LMI will only consider applicants with security clearances or applicants who are eligible for security clearances
Desired Qualifications
- A current Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
Additional Requirements
