Job Summary
Design roadway/highway geometry, grading, drainage, sewer, water main, utilities, green infrastructure, and work zone traffic control. Develop civil/highway design plans, profiles, sections, and details using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation. Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents. Support multi-disciplinary design development teams by coordinating with structural, traffic, geotechnical, and environmental disciplines to progress design packages and resolve technical issues. Interface with CAD designers, engineers, and subcontractors to advance project execution. Provide design reviews and construction-phase services as required. This role is part of the Critical Infrastructure team, focusing on planning, designing, and modernizing infrastructure to enhance mobility and sustainability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- 5+ years of related work experience
- NYCDOT/NYCDDC civil/highway experience
- Proficiency in utilizing AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation software
- working knowledge of other PC software packages typically associated with engineering
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- NYCDEP sewer and water main design
- Familiarity with NYCDDC, NYCDOT, and/or NYCDEP standards and specifications
- Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate
