Job Summary
Organize field work and collect, review, and draft data for civil and environmental projects. Perform basic design calculations, prepare project plans and specifications, and compile permit applications. Draft technical documentation, present findings on proposals and RFIs, and manage safety compliance while researching and evaluating project data. Assist with engineering tasks under guidance of a licensed engineer and coordinate assignments through the Providence Baton Rouge office. Requires a valid driver's license and occasional travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Civil preferred or currently enrolled in an engineering program with a four-year accredited institution.
- Has the ability to obtain or has already obtained Engineer Intern (E.I.) certification.
- Experience with execution of various civil projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong emphasis on team relations.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Ability to exercise initiative and innovative thinking.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record.
- Ability to travel occasionally.
- Ability to walk long distances.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions and on varied terrain, sometimes for extended periods of time.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with AutoCAD and other various drafting and design software is a plus.
