Job Summary

Analyze survey reports, maps, and topographical data to plan projects, then design transportation, hydraulic, and utility systems using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Prepare site grading plans, utility layouts, and construction documents for permitting while coordinating with municipal parties. Compute load requirements and water flow rates to determine design specifications, then communicate project status with managers and clients through regular reports. This full-time, exempt role in the Dallas office requires a Civil Engineering degree and EIT certification, with core hours of 9am–4pm and flexible scheduling options.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • 0-4 years of experience in designing civil projects; commercial, industrial, retail, education, municipal, roadways, & utilities
  • Engineer in Training certification
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills

  • This is a full-time, exempt position, with an expectation to work 40 hours per week
  • BHB offers flexible scheduling options, including five 8-hour days or four 9-hour days with a half day on Friday morning
  • employees are expected to establish and maintain a consistent schedule which must encompass the core business hours of 9am – 4pm
  • Although overtime is not required, it is requested at times to meet our clients' needs
  • Physical Demands: This position is primarily sedentary with long periods of sitting, but occasional walking and lifting up to 25lbs may occur
  • Occasionally bending, squatting, and reaching overhead may also occur
  • extensive computer usage is required daily
