Job Summary
Lead the design and execution of civil engineering projects from conceptual planning through construction administration, preparing site, utility, and roadway plans while performing technical analyses and design evaluations. Coordinate project activities with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies, ensuring deliverables meet applicable codes and quality standards. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and provide recommendations for engineering and construction-related issues. Support construction administration via site visits and contractor inquiries, while serving as a technical resource and mentor to junior staff by reviewing their work products for accuracy. Represent the firm professionally in meetings and presentations, maintaining strong client relationships and supporting business development efforts. Travel to project sites as required. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, 3–8 years of experience, and EIT certification are required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited university
- 3–8 years of related civil engineering experience
- EIT certification required
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
- Experience managing civil engineering projects or significant project tasks with limited supervision
- Experience in an engineering consulting environment preferred
- Strong understanding of local, state, and federal permitting and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and common civil engineering design software
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects from conceptual design through construction
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
- Travel to project sites as required
Desired Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior staff
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams
- Experience with project budgeting, scheduling, and client communications
- Demonstrated success managing project tasks and maintaining client relationships
