Job Summary
Design and supervise major engineering and capital improvement projects within the Traffic Services Division. Develop and prepare engineering plans, specifications, and design requirements while overseeing staff activities and assessing completed projects. Analyze complex engineering studies from consultants, prepare technical reports, and administer work activity budgets. Ensure all projects comply with applicable regulations and guidelines. Provide technical assistance to entry and mid-level engineers, consultants, and support staff. Possess a Professional Engineer's License in Oklahoma and a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering
- Skill in planning and supervising the development and construction of public works projects
- Skill in interpreting, explaining, and clarifying regulations regarding public and private construction
- Skill in ensuring that engineering projects and plans comply with all applicable regulations and guidelines
- Skill in designing public works engineering projects
- Skill in analyzing data
- Skill in verbal and written communication
- Skill in supervising
- Skill in providing technical assistance to professional and non-professional employees
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
- Ability to make work-related decisions
- Possession of a Professional Engineer's License (Oklahoma)
- Possession of a valid Driver License (Operator)
- Minimum of five (5) years of civil engineering experience, including at least three (3) years of experience in traffic engineering or a transportation-related field
- Skill in using traffic signal timing and modeling applications such as Synchro, SimTraffic, TEAPAC or similar programs
- Skill in using central transportation management applicants such as ATMS.now, Centracs Mobility, or similar programs
- Skill in performing traffic control warrant analyses and preparing technical reports including, but not limited to traffic impact studies
- Proficiency in using software packages such as Microsoft Excel and Word
Desired Qualifications
- Possession of a Professional Engineer's License (Oklahoma) issued by a state having reciprocity with the State of Oklahoma
