Job Summary
Civil Engineer III (Water Resources) at Baxter & Woodman focusing on municipal and private development projects with responsibilities including managing civil/water resources studies and designs, developing hydrologic and hydraulic models for stormwater systems, preparing drainage studies and stormwater masterplans, designing municipal neighborhood improvements (stormwater facilities, detention basins, culverts, etc.), addressing resiliency, LID, Sea Level Rise and climate impacts, preparing construction plans/specifications, performing quality control of models/reports/design, and coordinating permitting with local, state and federal agencies. Requires 4-year Civil Engineering degree, Florida P.E. license or reciprocity, and 6+ years of experience; proficiency with AutoCAD (Civil 3D) and ArcGIS desirable; travel within service area expected.
Required Qualifications
- 4-year B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, with emphasis in water resources engineering preferred
- Florida P.E. License required (or the ability to obtain through reciprocity)
- 6+ years of experience in the design of civil projects
- Knowledge of basic principles of infrastructure design and plan preparation
- Expertise in hydrology and hydraulics
- Expertise with H&H modeling (Stormwise/ICPR preferred)
- Experience in consulting engineering, public works, or construction
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Strong verbal, computer, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman service area (own transportation)
- Experience with AutoCAD (Civil 3D is preferred) and ArcGIS is a plus
