Job Summary
Perform large complex hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for wind and solar projects, including stormwater drainage design, floodplain analysis, and erosion mitigation. Prepare reports, studies, and exhibits while collaborating with technical staff and CAD designers to develop construction documents. Conduct field visits, research stormwater management requirements, and assist in creating standardized modeling processes. Work independently within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver quality results on schedule. 5% travel to jobsites is expected. This role supports RRC's mission to build the future of U.S. energy production through renewable energy projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Water Resources or Civil/Environmental Engineering
- EIT and able to obtain a PE license within 6 months from hire, or current PE
- Knowledge of hydrological methods: Rational method, Small Watershed Method, SCS Hydrological Soils (NRCS)
- Working knowledge of a wide range of software including HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, ArcGIS, HY-8, etc.
- Experience with ESRI Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software and extensions
- Proficient with office software including MS Word, MS Excel, Blue Beam, Adobe, etc.
- Ability to prepare technical reports with supporting exhibits, tables, charts, and software output
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 5% travel may be expected to jobsites for site visits and/or client meetings, and may include overnight stays for several days
Desired Qualifications
- 2-4 years of strong experience in engineering drainage design and hydrologic/ hydraulic concepts and modeling
- Technical experience with 2D modeling software packages such as FLO2D
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
