Job Summary

Conduct various aspects of Civil design, including conceptual studies, design analyses, calculations, and site design for buildings, subdivisions, and infrastructure projects. Prepare programming, schematic, design development, and construction documents while coordinating with multi-discipline teams to ensure proper integration. Execute Civil services for bidding and construction phases, including field visits, reviewing shop drawings, and preparing record drawings. Develop manual calculations, analytical models, and Civil 3D models for site design and utilities, adhering to quality control policies and company standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ABET-accredited 4-, 5-, or 6-year engineering program in one of the following disciplines: Civil Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Civil, Environmental and Infrastructure Engineering, or Civil Engineering Technology
  • Completed or be in a position to complete the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and all other state requirements for certification as an EIT
  • 2-4 years of specific, post-graduation, Civil engineering experience that includes experience with designing a site, roadway, subdivision, or utilities; development of manual calculations and analytical models for Civil analysis and design purposes; development of construction documents (drawings and specifications), coordination with other design team members, and experience in responding to construction phase queries and submittals
  • Pursuing Professional Engineer licensure (PE) within 36 months of being hired
  • Active membership in NSPE, ASCE or other related professional organizations
  • Ability to effectively utilize current company software programs for word processing, e-mail, and information management
  • Working familiarity with design and production software to a point of being able to utilize the software in the development of project documents and interact with other project team members in their use of the software

Desired Qualifications

  • Post-graduate degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering-related degree
  • Completed or be in a position to complete the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and all other state requirements for certification as an EIT
  • Understanding of sustainable design principles and design practices and pursuing LEED AP accreditation
  • Additional certifications such as CDT, CCS, or CCCA
  • Working familiarity with design and production software to a point of being able to utilize the software in the development of project documents and interact with other project team members in their use of the software
