Job Summary
Design and review engineering plans for streets, sidewalks, pedestrian crossings, traffic signals, and parking facilities; conduct traffic studies including data analysis and warrant studies; analyze crash data within City of Orlando limits; prepare designs/specifications and review consultant submissions for compliance with City engineering standards; lead or supervise technicians in deploying traffic data collection equipment; plan details of work and make technical decisions under supervision; relevant software and licensure enhancements (EI/PE) valued; incumbents work across Civil Engineer I–IV levels with increasing responsibilities in transportation engineering and project oversight.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Registration as Engineer Intern (EI) preferred for Civil Engineer III
- Registration as Professional Engineer (PE) required for Civil Engineer IV
- Experience in transportation engineering or related field (varies by level)
- Experience with traffic studies or crash data analysis preferred for higher levels
- Knowledge of Synchro, Sidra, CFRPM, MicroStation, AutoCAD preferred
