Job Summary

Review site plans, subdivision applications, and capital improvement projects for compliance with municipal ordinances and engineering standards. Prepare technical review letters, engineering reports, and written recommendations for municipal clients, boards, and internal teams. Apply engineering judgment to evaluate drainage, grading, roadway, utility, and stormwater components while contributing to municipal infrastructure design plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Support construction-phase services including submittal review, RFIs, field observations, and contractor coordination. Participate in planning board and zoning board meetings to respond to engineering comments and coordinate with stakeholders. Demonstrate progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure within 6–12 months while working with experienced engineers in Albany, NY.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in civil, municipal, or site/infrastructure engineering
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required
  • Demonstrated progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, with the goal of obtaining licensure within approximately 6–12 months
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort participating in or supporting public meetings and municipal coordination
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, work collaboratively, and contribute effectively in a client-service environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience reviewing or designing projects involving municipal infrastructure, transportation, stormwater, water/wastewater, or land development
  • Familiarity with municipal ordinances, board review processes, and public-sector project delivery
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar engineering software
  • Working knowledge of NJDEP, NJDOT, and/or local municipal standards and permitting processes
