Job Summary
Assist project managers in the functional and detailed design of municipal infrastructure including roads, water supply, sewers, and stormwater systems for locations across Northern Canada. Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to complete design activities, maintain project schedules, and ensure successful project completion. Support fieldwork as needed for construction observation, monitoring, and data collection. Contribute to business development by researching client needs and preparing project proposals and presentations. Travel to other Dillon offices to support collaboration and drive growth across the firm.
Required Qualifications
- A degree in civil engineering
- Registered as an engineer-in-training, or be eligible within six months
- 3 – 5 years' experience, preferably in the consulting industry
- Knowledge of the functional and detailed design of integrated municipal infrastructure including roads, sewers and watermains
- Understand a range of project design and implementation activities including development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering, and contract administration
- Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial engineering standards and regulatory requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with local regulations, policies, guidelines, and provincial and municipal permit requirements for environmental agencies
- Proven skills in detail design of municipal infrastructure
- Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essential

- Business travel to other Dillon offices
- Travel to other Dillon offices as needed to support collaboration, share knowledge, and drive growth across the firm

Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of current AutoCAD software
- Working knowledge of Civil 3D/Land Desktop software will be considered an asset
- Familiarity with both construction inspection and contract administration would be considered an asset
- Familiarity with Northern Canadian design or construction related practices would be considered an asset
