Job Summary
Perform all aspects of site design including processing surveys, grading, drainage, stormwater management, water distribution, and sewer collection. Develop construction cost estimates, check and prepare site plans, designs, and drawings, and solve routine technical problems using sound engineering principles. Coordinate daily project scheduling, conduct construction site visits to monitor progress, and correspond with clients and regulatory agencies. Mentor staff civil engineers and EITs, ensure quality standards and client satisfaction, and assist senior engineers with project specifications and inspections. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, and 8+ years of design experience. Based in the Beaufort Office with a focus on commercial and industrial permitting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- Minimum of 8 years design experience in site development, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and permitting with an emphasis on technical design and permitting on commercial and industrial projects
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local agency regulations
- Knowledge of engineering and surveying practices
- Experience managing a wide variety of site development projects, and working with clients
- Ability to manage and clearly communicate with staff and clients
- Experience in Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D, Autodesk Vehicle Tracking, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, SEDCAD and PCSWMM
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Skill in planning, organizing, and prioritizing work
- A positive attitude and willingness to train and learn
