Job Summary
Civil Engineer (Cost/Schedule Focused) in AECOM's Central Civil Works Department. Hybrid position based in Houston, TX, focusing on design of flood risk management systems including dams, locks, spillways, floodwalls, and related infrastructure. Responsibilities include developing quantities, plans, specifications, cost estimates, construction schedules, technical reports, and other project documents; learning and applying advanced construction methods; assisting with peer reviews, site visits, proposals, and design charrettes; and pursuing leadership roles such as discipline lead or project manager on complex projects. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field, 4 years of relevant experience, Professional Engineer license in at least one state (with ability to obtain others via reciprocity), experience with Bentley OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D, MII/MCACES software, Primavera, and a valid driver’s license. Experience on federal projects (USACE, USIBWC, FEMA, NRCS) and strong communication skills are preferred. Sponsorship and relocation are not available for this position.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related engineering field
- Professional Engineer license in one state in the US and able to easily obtain licenses in other states via reciprocity. NCEES profile is a plus.
- Experience with Bentley OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Valid Driver’s License required
