Job Summary

Provide civil engineering support for facility and infrastructure projects from planning and design through construction and project completion. Develop and review design calculations, cost estimates, project schedules, technical drawings, specifications, Statements of Work, and other project documentation. Conduct field investigations, site surveys, facility assessments, and inspections to validate project requirements and existing conditions. Coordinate with engineers, architects, planners, contracting personnel, tenant organizations, and external agencies including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and NAVFAC. Utilize CADD, GIS, BIM, and other Government-approved tools to collect, evaluate, and analyze facility and infrastructure data. Apply applicable Federal, state, local, Department of the Air Force, and U.S. Space Force engineering, construction, health, safety, and environmental requirements throughout project development and execution. Work primarily on-site at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, with no remote/telework anticipated.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship
  • National Agency Check w/Inquiries (NACI)
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant civil engineering experience
  • Professional knowledge of civil engineering concepts, principles, and practices
  • Strong familiarity with architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural disciplines and their integration with civil engineering design and construction
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable engineering and construction standards, contracting regulations, health and safety requirements, and environmental laws
  • Ability to develop and review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and Statements of Work
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical data and develop practical and economical engineering recommendations
  • Proficiency in automated data processing, program planning, and budgeting processes, including financial control systems used to manage project resources and schedules
  • Skill in drafting and preparing complete project documentation, including preliminary sketches and final construction drawings
  • Ability to plan, conduct, and document detailed site and facility surveys and inspections
  • Strong technical writing, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required installation and restricted-area access
  • Ability to perform desk work for extended periods, including sitting and using a computer
  • Ability to conduct field investigations, facility surveys, and project-site visits as required
  • Ability to walk, stand, and navigate active facility and construction environments
  • Work primarily on-site at Schriever Space Force Base
  • Remote/telework is not anticipated
