Job Summary
Design highway and multi-use trail projects by executing geometric design, right-of-way plans, storm drainage, utilities, signing, marking, and erosion control. Assemble permits from City, County, and State levels while providing engineering oversight during construction. Collaborate with team members to prepare documentation, including plans, specifications, estimates, and bid proposals. Coordinate project scopes, tasks, and schedules to deliver moderate to major projects within budget and time constraints. Present engineering assignments at client meetings and interact with contractors and project teams. Nights and weekends may occasionally be required with little notice. Florida Professional Engineer licensure or ability to obtain within six months is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- 5-8 years' experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D or Bentley OpenRoads
- Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word
- Working knowledge of Florida Department of Transportation design requirements for roadway development and Federal/State funding
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and clients
- Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and follow-up on assignments with minimal supervision
- Ability to maintain confidentially and protect privileged client information and documents appropriately
- Ability to work calmly and effectively in a high-volume office environment under pressure of heavy deadlines
- Knowledge of correct English usage including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary
- Valid drivers' license and maintenance of satisfactory driving record
- Florida Professional Engineer licensure or ability to obtain Florida licensure within six (6) months of hire
- Nights and weekends are generally not required but may occasionally be necessary with little or no advanced notice
