Job Summary
Civil & Earthworks Drafter I in the Lakewood, CO office builds and refines civil design drawing packages for mining, tailings, heap leach pad, waste rock stockpile, reclamation, and related infrastructure. Under general supervision, you will provide technical drafting and design support using Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D to produce drawings (plans, profiles, sections, details) and contribute to data compilation, calculations, and adherence to design standards. Responsibilities include ensuring QA in drafting, collaborating with cross-functional teams, assisting with data collection from sites and surveys, and supporting compliance with contract requirements and project specifications. Travel may be necessary; strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and clear communication are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- One year of relevant experience after completing education, along with previous drafting and design support experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD 2024 and Civil 3D 2024 or newer, prioritizing the use of advanced and efficient tools and workflows within these platforms. - Demonstrates a strong understanding of drafting and design support principles, practices, processes, methods, and techniques.

- Strong abilities in research and evaluation, combined with a keen analytical approach.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication abilities, effectively conveying ideas in a clear and professional manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrates strong self-leadership, attention to detail, a willingness to learn new skills, ability to multitask, follow instructions, and adhere to company policies.
- Demonstrates proficiency in working autonomously while adhering to supervisory guidance, and effectively collaborates as a team member to achieve organizational goals.
- Demonstrated competence in technical writing, office automation, software applications, technological concepts, mathematical principles, spreadsheet management, and relevant tools. Consistently maintain workplace safety and follow WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
- Willingness to adapt to project schedules, which could sometimes require working outside the standard workweek.
