Job Summary
Civil Designer in Brisbane leads civil design projects within WSP’s Property and Buildings team, collaborating with multi-disciplinary professionals on iconic projects across Australia. You’ll scope civil works from concept through detailed design and construction support, coordinate inputs from roads, drainage, utilities and pavements, and apply a pragmatic eye for buildability, safety and whole-life performance. Responsibilities include delivering 12D design work, facilitating workshops, mentoring emerging engineers, championing digital design and quality standards, and driving continuous improvement to create efficient workflows. The role offers breadth across city-shaping transport, defence, and low-carbon infrastructure, with opportunities for national collaboration and professional growth. Desirable qualifications include Chartered status with Engineers Australia and a Bachelor to Master’s level degree in Civil Engineering.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor to Masters’ level degree in Civil Engineering
- Demonstrated 7-10 years industry experience
- Practical experience using 12D
- Experience with BIM and 3D modelling project delivery
- Chartered status with Engineers Australia (desirable)
- Diploma / Advanced Diploma in Engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience with Earthworks, roadworks, stormwater drainage and utilities
- Familiarity with point cloud surveys
Desired Qualifications

- 7-10 years industry experience
- Demonstrated experience working on Australian or New Zealand projects within the Building and Property sector
- Diploma / Advanced Diploma in Engineering (or equivalent)
- Practical experience using 12D is essential
- Experience with Earthworks, roadworks, stormwater drainage and utilities
- Experience with executing BIM and 3D modelling project delivery methods
- Familiarity with working with point cloud surveys would be highly regarded
- Able to work remotely on client’s sites liaising directly with the client to deliver the most appropriate engineering solution
- Strong communication and mentoring abilities
- Engagement with multi-disciplinary teams and workshops
