Job Summary
Civil Designer responsible for designing and producing end-to-end construction plans in Civil3D for City of Houston, Harris County and surrounding communities. Will work on roadways, water lines, sanitary sewer and force mains, lift stations, storm sewer, detention basins, water tanks, flood-control projects, site projects, hike/bike trails, traffic control and phasing plans, grading, and related civil infrastructure. Requires 5–20+ years of design experience, proficiency in Civil3D, ability to work independently and in teams, deadline-driven delivery, attention to detail, and a willingness to operate in an office environment.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 20+ years of actual design experience or demonstration of equivalent abilities
- Proficiency in Civil3D
- Be comfortable performing in a deadline-oriented environment
- Ability to perform quality work efficiently, with attention to detail, with or without instruction
- Take ownership of assigned work
- Good attitude with friendly demeanor
- Work in an office environment (cubicle, no working from home)
- 4.5-day workweek (M-Th 7:30 – 5:30; F 7:30 – 11:30)
- Software and Tools: Civil3D (required), Surfaces (required), Pipe Networks (required), Pressure Pipe Networks (desired), Corridors (desired), Creation of Plan & Profiles using Civil3D (desired)
