Job Summary
Operate equipment including blades, dozers, loaders, scrapers, cranes, and skid-steers while adhering to Mortenson safety policies and procedures. Follow prescribed safety regulations, maintain clear housekeeping, and perform routine maintenance to detect malfunctions. Execute work plans and pre-task cards while building relationships across diverse organizational levels. Complete all other duties as assigned, including repetitive hand and arm movements and lifting up to 50 lbs with assistance when needed. This role supports Mortenson's work as a top builder, developer, and EPC firm in markets ranging from sports to renewable energy.
Required Qualifications
- Equipment certifications as required
- Minimum one (1) year of related experience
- Current driver's license of proper classification and necessary endorsements as required by law
- Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status
- Ability to operate equipment by moving levers, shifting gears, depressing pedals, and maneuvering steering wheels
- Knowledge of equipment and their uses
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and load charts
- Ability to work independently
- Active listening and effective communication skills
- Open to diverse input and feedback
