Job Summary
Lead and supervise day-to-day site activities on civil construction projects, coordinating labour, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Review construction drawings and project plans, interpret scopes of work, and provide clear expectations to crews regarding safety, productivity, and quality. Enforce all safe work practices, policies, and procedures by participating in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and inspections while maintaining accurate field documentation and equipment logs. Resolve operational challenges, implement improvements, and mentor team members through training and feedback. Represent Infracon professionally with clients and stakeholders while adhering to company standards and driving a culture of accountability.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the civil construction industry
- Proven experience supervising and directing site works on civil projects, subdivisions, or similar construction environments
- Strong understanding of civil construction practices, sequencing, and field coordination
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Demonstrated commitment to being a strong and accountable safety leader
- Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced field setting
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, project specifications, and work plans
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and dependable approach to work
- Ability to motivate crews and maintain a strong culture of accountability and performance
- Professional, respectful, and courteous in dealing with employees, clients, and stakeholders
- Must participate fully in all required safety meetings, hazard assessments, inspections, and safe work planning activities
- Worker must supply basic PPE including boots, hi-visibility vest, hardhat, and safety glasses
- Drug and alcohol testing may be required in accordance with company or project requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in underground utility installation, roadworks, and municipal construction
- Experience using HeavyJob is considered an asset
- Experience operating a variety of heavy equipment is considered an asset
- Class 1 driver's licence is considered an asset
- Safety certifications such as First Aid, CSTS, H2S, or similar are considered assets
