Job Summary
Lead field execution of challenging heavy civil projects by turning plans into production and directing crews, equipment, and subcontractors. Set clear expectations for foremen and staff, anticipate constraints, and coordinate activities to drive quality production while maintaining safety standards. Manage earthworks, road construction, underground utilities, and complex infrastructure in challenging terrain, ensuring closeout and documentation move alongside daily work. Connect the site with project managers, engineering, and clients to secure necessary support and resources.
Required Qualifications
- Significant field experience in heavy civil construction
- Previous experience leading crews, foremen, and subcontractors
- Strong understanding of earthworks, grading, underground utilities, roadbuilding, or similar civil construction
- Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements
- Experience planning manpower, equipment, materials, and upcoming work
- Strong understanding of construction safety and quality requirements
- The ability to communicate effectively with both field personnel and project management
Desired Qualifications
- Experience delivering larger or technically challenging civil infrastructure projects, particularly involving major earthworks, highways, utilities, structures, industrial construction, or complex site development
- Experience with GPS machine control, digital construction tools, survey technology, production tracking, and modern project management systems
