Job Summary
Junior Civil/Construction Engineer to support onsite efforts for the California High-Speed Rail program in Bakersfield, CA. Responsibilities include data collection, validation, and analysis related to program delivery; develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports to track KPIs, schedules, and project metrics; use data visualization tools to present complex engineering data; assist with data integration across enterprise systems; prepare recurring and ad hoc reports for leadership and project teams; collaborate with cross-functional groups to identify data gaps and inefficiencies; apply engineering principles to interpret data trends for decision-making; perform QA/QC checks on datasets and reporting; contribute to documentation of workflows, reporting procedures, and data standards; support automation and continuous improvement initiatives in reporting and data management.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in civil or mechanical engineering
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of civil/construction engineering principles
- Experience with data systems and analytics
- Ability to develop and maintain dashboards and reports to track KPIs, schedules, and metrics
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI or similar tools
- Familiarity with enterprise systems (ERP, project controls software) and data workflows
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, macros, data modeling)
- Experience with data systems, reporting tools, or engineering/project databases
- SQL, Python familiarity

- Effective communication of technical information to diverse audiences
