Job Summary
Perform complex non-standard engineering assignments involving design, development, analysis, and field problem resolution. Independently review work products, conduct risk assessments, and propose solutions to supervisors while ensuring compliance with government and industry standards. Evaluate technical techniques to develop new products and methods, actively participate in internal technical communications, and suggest process improvements. Apply advanced software tools and structural analysis codes to assess concrete structures, load paths, and long-term performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Dependent on the position, degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology and Engineering Science may also be accepted
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Advanced knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria
- Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data
- Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment
- Advanced problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Displays leadership characteristics
- Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking
- Advanced level of specific software tools ( ANSYS, GT STRUDL, or SASSI ) and programming skills
- Nuclear Industry Experience
- Proficient in structural analysis and design codes (e.g. ACI, etc.)
- Ability to assess load paths, crack control. and long-term performance of concrete structures
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
