Civil Associate, Transportation/Public Works

Job Summary
Partner with a team of engineers to deliver transportation engineering, public works, and site development projects for municipal and county clients. Contribute to the planning and design of roadway improvements, ADA accessibility enhancements, drainage systems, and other infrastructure projects. Assist in preparing project deliverables, including engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, design calculations, quantity takeoffs, and bid documents. Support geometric roadway design, Civil 3D modeling, and other engineering analyses throughout project development. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technical staff to ensure high-quality deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget. Participate in client meetings and project discussions, helping to coordinate solutions and communicate project progress. Provide technical support to municipal agency clients and, at times, serve as an extension of agency staff. Conduct occasional field visits to gather information, observe site conditions, and support project development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- coursework or experience related to Public Works and/or Transportation Engineering
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant engineering experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn, grow, and apply engineering principles to develop innovative and practical design solutions
Desired Qualifications
- EIT certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- experience with MicroStation
- experience with InRoads
- experience with OpenRoads
