City-Wide PE/Health Teacher

City-wide Physical Education/Health Teacher responsible for teaching physical fitness, health education, rhythms and dance, and individual, dual, or team sports in a K-5 setting. Collaborates with other physical education teachers to plan a balanced program; demonstrates and explains skills and strategies; provides individualized and small group instruction; teaches PE classes for handicapped pupils as needed; conducts safety checks on equipment and facilities; maintains inventory and storage of school property; establishes standards of pupil behavior; evaluates pupil growth; engages in in-service education and professional development; selects and requisitions uniforms and instructional aids; communicates pupil progress to parents and counselors; identifies pupil needs and coordinates with other staff; serves on faculty and curriculum committees; implements individual education programs for special needs students; other duties as assigned.
