Job Summary
Oversee work zone setup, maintenance, and tear-down while implementing traffic control setups per MUTCD standards and applicable plans. Flag traffic, manage lane closures, and provide onsite leadership to crews, ensuring clear communication with customers and the public. Drive company trucks to deliver equipment, tow and operate towable gear, and maintain all materials in working order. Conduct daily Job Hazard Analysis, tailgate meetings, and provide performance feedback to Operations Management. Submit detailed safety reports on incidents and near misses while maintaining an unrelenting focus on protecting lives. Requires current IBEW membership, valid driver's license, and ATSSA Flagger certification.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record
- Current IBEW membership w/Traffic Tech classification required
- Ability to read and understand traffic control plans
- Can establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and others
- Can work independently with minimum supervision while prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
- Strong conflict resolution techniques
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent multitasking, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Reliable Transportation with ability to commute throughout Northern California
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2+ years in an equivalent Traffic Control role
- OSHA 10 Certification
- OSHA 30 Certification
- First Aid/CPR Certification required
- Proficient knowledge of the Cal Trans MUTCD
- ATSSA Flagger Certification required
- TCT certification by ATSSA preferred
- Frequent lifting of heavy objects, up to 50 lbs
- Lift, carry, push, pull and assemble traffic control materials in the proper order to manage work zone traffic
- Stand for long periods of time in various weather conditions, and different times of day/night
- Various noise decibel levels
- Stooping for prolonged periods of time
- Dexterity in the use of hand and fingers
- Reaching, sitting, bending, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing and Vision (up close, at a distance, along the periphery)
- English- read and write fluently
- Employment is contingent upon verification of legal authorization to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a criminal background check, if applicable and consistent with California law
- Any required drug screening conducted in compliance with applicable state and local laws
Desired Qualifications
