Job Summary
Oversee work zone setup, maintenance, and tear-down while implementing traffic control setups per MUTCD standards. Flag traffic, manage lane closures, and direct public movement to ensure safety for crews, motorists, and pedestrians. Review traffic plans, install control equipment, and drive company trucks to deliver gear across Northern California. Conduct daily Job Hazard Analysis, crew tailgate meetings, and performance evaluations to maintain high standards. Tow and operate towable equipment while keeping all materials organized and functional. This role requires current IBEW membership, valid driver's license, and relevant certifications. Full-time, hourly position with on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record
- Current IBEW membership w/Traffic Tech classification
- Ability to read and understand traffic control plans
- Can establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and others
- Can work independently with minimum supervision while prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
- Strong conflict resolution techniques
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent multitasking, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Reliable Transportation with ability to commute throughout Northern California
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years in an equivalent Traffic Control role
- OSHA 10 Certification
- OSHA 30 Certification
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Proficient knowledge of the Cal Trans MUTCD
- ATSSA Flagger Certification
- English- read and write fluently
