Job Summary
Coordinate traffic flow around active road construction and utility work zones using "Stop" and "Slow" signals, two-way radios, and hand gestures. Assist in managing day-to-day work zone setup, maintenance, and tear-down by setting up barricades, cones, and vehicle placements to ensure safety for motorists, pedestrians, and crews. Maintain consistent focus on safety while driving company trucks, organizing equipment, and communicating with customers and team members to meet state and federal regulations. This role supports City Rise Traffic's mission to provide high-quality safety services across California, helping construction sites maintain safe work environments for employees and the public.
Required Qualifications
- Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Valid ATSSA Flagging certification
- Current LIUNA membership with journey person classification
- Current LIUNA membership with Apprentice 1-4 classification
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Valid ATSSA Flagging certification
- Valid CA driver's license with a clean driving record/insurable
- Experience driving medium duty vehicles and towing trailers
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write clear instructions, explanations, and correspondence
- Ability to read, understand, and implement TCPs and follow industry guidelines
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Caltrans MUTCD
- Can read and understand traffic control plans and permits
- Bilingual in English/Spanish
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Current LIUNA membership with Apprentice 1-4 classification
- Valid ATSSA Flagging certification
- Valid CA driver's license with a clean driving record/insurable
