Job Summary
Produce concepts, prototypes, and design outputs for citizen-facing products, interfaces, and service touchpoints across digital, physical, and printed channels. Translate briefs, user insights, and service requirements into practical, inclusive solutions that reduce stress and build confidence. Test ideas, gather feedback, and refine designs to ensure they are accessible, usable, and ready for operational delivery. Work across a wide variety of channels to create a coherent wider experience for citizens, supporting graphic design teams with foundational design work.
Required Qualifications
- Portfolio showing examples of design work
- Experience in product design, UI/UX, digital interaction design, service design or another relevant design background
- Ability to think clearly about how people interact with services and turn that understanding into effective design solutions
- Confidence in exploring ideas, creating prototypes and developing concepts grounded in evidence and real user needs
- Ability to challenge a brief, simplify, and determine when a design needs more to make it genuinely useful, engaging and memorable
- Understanding that every interaction is part of a bigger picture including websites, signs, timetables, customer journeys or physical environments
- Creativity, curiosity, attention to detail and design mindset to help improve everyday life across South Yorkshire
- Hybrid working arrangement with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office
