Job Summary
Continuous Improvement/Kaizen Tech on the shop floor, focusing on implementing kaizen and 5S improvements across departments. Analyzing drawings, manuals, and fabrication processes to determine proper preparation, setup, layout, and execution to meet department specifications. Lead Kaizen Blitzes and 5S initiatives to improve process flow and safety. Perform turnkey processes from raw materials through fabrication, finishing, and installation; conduct preventative maintenance; ensure adherence to safety standards; train team members on process improvements; identify bottlenecks and collaborate with Engineering/Manufacturing to counteract quality and production issues.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical school, or 2-year college; or 2 plus years to 3 plus years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Experience with installation of new or used equipment (Basic understanding of Hydraulic, Pneumatics, and Electrical systems) preferred
- Understanding of 5 S and how to implement
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to study processes for improvement of production
- Ability to read and comprehend basic English
- Ability to follow instructions
- Experience with a wide range of heavy equipment, industrial, maintenance or automotive repair preferred
